In the part of the world where I live, Australia, down the East coast for about 1300km, we have experienced a cyclone. Tremendous volumes of water beating the last benchmarks for flooding in 1974, plus wind demolition, damaged the population’s houses and businesses totally or partially.

Such dramatic events always set us up for choice, to complain and blame, or to go with the flow (figuratively) and get on with it, facing the challenge. The community as a whole feels the pain collectively, so after securing your own safety and abobe, helping others is a priority to getting people back to normal once again.

Self absorption, blame, and bitterness do not lend to society a way out, only involvement is a healing balm. Helping others is ultimately helping oneself anyway, as in generic conscious awareness of spirit, all is One.

The spiritual being icons will always demonstrate service to others. Help ever, hurt never, is one catch cry I have heard for decades plus. The West has its “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” If we do the reverse of this and go looting vulnerable properties for our own gain, we are doing it to ourselves, and sooner or later, this lifetime or the next, we will receive similar treatment from others, in order to balance the Universe’s books.

To see the helping of unknown persons to families they do not personally know, is uplifting, and it was reported that our community was upbeat in its general attitude, pitching in to help.

My own duty is now to my particular spiritual community, which apart from individual friends and acquaintances, has 2 schools. One of these schools went under, and all of the ground floor offices, storerooms, and resource areas was under a level of water. I am grateful that my own possessions were not major water damaged.
